50th Anniversary
Doors opened April 1974
1977
"In the spring of 1977, I saw a notice on a wall at Stuyvesant H.S. about acting classes being held nearby. I went and discovered Anna Panaro, a wise and wonderful teacher. Among other exercises, she assigned me and Owen, another student, to do a scene from “The Odd Couple” with me as Oscar and Owen as Felix, which was kinda counterintuitive casting. We worked on it and worked on it. I don’t know how well we did, but, 45 years later, I was cast as Felix in a local production of “The Odd Couple” here in New Orleans and I wound up winning a Best Actor award for it. Clearly, Anna knew what she was doing‚ Congratulations on your 50th anniversary!"
- Brian Sands
"Brian, can you believe it? I can hardly comprehend what excitement I feel when I look back at those years we spent together! All that raw talent and passion just bursting through! Each of you, in your own way, have allowed all that inner spirit to light your path. It’s utterly amazing! I am so thrilled!!! Keep on truckin’, Brian!!!"
- Anna Panaro
1978
"In 1978, my best friend Joiel Ray started taking a Saturday morning acting class, she told me how amazing the instructor was and I should consider joining. I did, and I met Anna Panaro. This Saturday morning class served me in more ways than one, but one of the big things I got out of it was that I was given a pathway to my talent, and Anna made my talent real. We inspired each other, creativity and talent came alive each Saturday, and we were guided and nurtured by Anna. She is in the DNA of my life story, and the gifts she gave me remain priceless! I will always cherish my time under her tutelage and the way she loved us all...Love you with all my heart forever, with love"
- Tracy Brathwaite
"Dear Sweet Tracy. As soon as you stepped foot into my class you made yourself known! I gave you a difficult monologue which you brought down to the depths of your soul! I saw then that this girl was an exceptional talent! I was so Blessed to have students coming from all the burrows of New York with so many creative gifts! I was in awe of all of you! A most exciting time, needless to say!!! I remember so many instances that we shared! May God continue to Bless you as you sing your heart out, my sweet friend! God has something Special in store for you!!!"

"Happy 50th Anniversary, Anna! I loved the acting classes that I took with you at The Panaro Workshop in NYC between 1986-1988! Can't believe it was so long ago; I remember it like it was yesterday! I have very fond memories of being in your classes and the showcases. They have been a true highlight in my life. You're a wonderful teacher; it was tough work but so worth it. It helped me enormously in my professional business career and personally. I'd still be taking your classes if you were in NYC. Happy Anniversary again, Anna. All the very best to you, and Thank you"

1988
"Congrats on your 50th Anniversary. I had been a stage Film Television actor for over 3 decades, In New York City. It was December 1988 during the writers strike when no one was working, I went through Backstage Magazine and saw your add about doing showcases, and yoga. I like the way it was implemented in the class. I did a scene called "Trip Back Down" with classmate Julie Surrey, "Edmond" by David Mamet, with Stephen Greenburg, and Mark Pflugfelder. And with Edmond I got my very first standing ovation. Anna provided me a great outlet to explore and challenge and learn a different approach to the work. Congrats again and keep up the great work. All best x"

2002
"When I studied with Anna at the PANARO ACADEMY OF DRAMATIC ARTS, I learned a lot, principally, characater analysis in its deepest essence of life, using mainly the Stanislavsky technique and others. It was great fun to create with many of my peers. I learned to own my voice and trust my instincts.
One memory I have is how I loved the monologue that we prepared for auditions. It was taken from the play "The Rose Tattoo" by Tennesse Williams and was originally interpreted by the famous actress Anna Magnani.
Anna is a very skilled acting coach. She is compassionate and disciplined. You feel the love she has for the art.
She is also my friend. I thank her for that because a few years later, I was called to play in a successful theater piece called "Captain and Co", and she was there to support me. It was a 3 day run with a full house every night which was very exciting.
Presently, I have written two best-seller books. One on the major publishers platform and the other soon to be published. I never thought that I would be telling stories using my knowledge acquired from my acting career. Thank you Anna for those wonderful years of fun and dedication to the Art of Acting."

"Let me take you back to where it all began, my first acting class in this unfamiliar land. I'm Carolla Parmejano, and my journey as a professional actor began at the tender age of eight. Yes, my first professional class was here, with a loving professor that set my career soaring.
Anna - words cannot express the depth of gratitude and respect I hold for your classes. Your unwavering patience, care, knowledge, and professionalism were the bedrock of my development. You generously shared your wisdom with all your students, including myself, and anyone fortunate enough to cross your Sofa. You are a cornerstone of my journey, and I owe much of my success to your guidance. Thank you for your teachings, for refining my skills, for your invaluable assistance, and for showering us with love. In 2009, there was no better place to embark on this journey than PANARO ACADEMY OF DRAMATIC ARTS !!!"
- Carolla Parmejano
"What a lovely tribute! Thank you so much.
But I must say, I learned so very much from each particular student that crossed my path.
I remember instances as if it were yesterday when you were on the stage, when some of my words even made you cry. As you have gathered, this business is difficult, but you were strong and you persevered. And now you are soaring as an actress on many levels!
I am following your career with such pride! May God continue to Bless you and grant you all the desires of your heart!🙏❤️"
